OtoZen includes two types of speed alerts, and each serves a different purpose.
Here’s how they work and why you may or may not receive one.
1. Driver Speeding Alerts (Alert for the driver only)
These alerts play only on the driver’s phone, not on the phones of their connections.
What this alert does
If the driver goes above the posted road speed limit, OtoZen plays a speeding alert beep on the driver’s phone.
Example:
Road speed limit: 35 mph/35 km/h
Driver speed: 45 mph/ 45 km/h
The driver hears a speeding alert beep.
Important notes
This alert is only for the driver, not for connections.
Works only when the driver is in Driver Mode.
It depends on the speeding alert threshold set by the driver.

2. High Speed Alerts (Alert sent to the driver’s connections)
These alerts notify you, the connection, not the driver.
What this alert does
You set a high-speed threshold.
If the driver crosses that threshold by even 1 mph/ 1 km/h, OtoZen sends you a notification.
Example:
You set: 70 mph/ 70 km/h
Driver hits: 71 mph/ 71 km/h
You receive a High Speed Alert Notification.
(Does NOT depend on the posted road speed limit.)
Important notes
Works only when the driver is in Driver Mode.
The threshold is set by the connection, not by the driver.
