If you’re not hearing speeding alerts, here are some steps to check and fix the issue:
Check Your Drive Mode
Speeding alerts only work in Driver Mode. If your mode is set to Rider Mode, or Supervising Rider (SR) alerts are disabled because you’re considered a passenger.
If your drive mode is set to Supervising Rider (SR)/Rider mode, change it to Driver by following these steps:
Open the OtoZen app and go to Family.
Tap your profile pin from the Family Map or the bottom view.
On the “ME” Live Screen, tap Switch (below your name).
Select Driver Mode on the Drive Mode screen
👉Your chosen mode will stay active for all trips until you manually change it
Make Sure Speeding Alerts Are Enabled
- Open the app and go to My Safetys.
- Tap Speeding Alerts.
- Confirm the alerts are turned ON
Check Your Audio Setup:
- Speeding alerts are audio beeps.
Timing of Alerts:
- The beeps come a few seconds after you exceed the speed limits set under the app's Speeding Alerts Controls.
- If your phone is connected via Bluetooth or CarPlay, alerts will play through your car speakers.
- If not connected, ensure your phone’s speaker volume is turned up enough to hear the beeps.
Understand Timing of Alerts:
- Beeps don’t happen instantly—they play a few seconds after you cross the speed threshold set in your alert settings.
Confirm Speeding Events Are Detected
- Check your trip summary for speeding events.
- Speeding events occur when you exceed the speed limit by 10 mph / 10 km/h or more.
Remember: Events and Alerts are different
- Events = recorded in your Drive Score.
- Alerts = real-time beeps based on your personal settings
👉 Following these steps should help you hear speeding alerts consistently while driving.
