OtoZen detects any physical interaction with your phone while in Driver mode—this includes unlocking, tapping, or moving the phone. The app cannot detect who is using the phone, so even if someone else is using it while you're driving, it will still be recorded as phone usage.
📌 What are my options if this happens?
1. Report each trip individually:
If you believe the phone usage alert was incorrect, you can report each affected trip through the app. Our team will review them manually.
2. Change the trip to Rider mode:
Switching a trip to Rider mode will remove phone usage tracking, but it also disables drive score calculation for that trip.

If someone regularly uses your phone while you drive (e.g., a passenger navigating), consider setting the trip to Rider mode for those drives to avoid phone usage alerts.
