We understand how important it is for accident detection to work when you need it the most. If an accident wasn't detected, it could be due to a few reasons:
1. Speed and Duration
The app is designed to detect accidents when your vehicle is moving at 25 mph for 30 seconds before the collision. If you were going slower or didn’t drive long enough, the system may not recognize it as a crash.
2. How the Vehicle Stops After Impact
After a collision, the vehicle must come to a complete stop quickly for the app to identify it as a crash. If the stop is gradual or incomplete, it may not meet the detection criteria.
3. Phone and Connection Requirements
Your phone must be:
- Turned on
- Set to ‘Always’ allow Location Access
- Connected to a stable cellular network
These conditions help the app detect the crash and send alerts in real time.
4. Crash Detection Settings in the App
Make sure the OtoZen app is correctly set up to detect accidents. You can verify this by going to:
OtoZen App > My Safety > Emergency Crash Response
5. Phone Placement While Driving
Keep your phone in a secure and stable position, like a dashboard or windshield mount. This helps the app track motion more accurately and improves the chances of detecting a crash.
Note: Even when all the above conditions are met, there may be rare instances where a crash isn't detected. This can happen due to factors such as temporary network outages, limited GPS availability, sensor malfunctions on the phone, algorithm errors, or crashes occurring in areas with poor or no wireless coverage.
