OtoZen scores phone usage based on physical interaction with the phone while driving, especially when the vehicle speed is 10 mph /10 km/h or above.

Counted as phone usage:

Physically lifting the phone while it is unlocked
Moving, lifting, or putting down the phone while it is unlocked
Unlocking the phone while driving at 10 mph /10 km/h or above
Using the phone for activities such as texting or apps, even if the phone is in a holder

Not counted as phone usage:

Hands-free calls without physically interacting with the phone
Receiving calls, texts, or notifications without touching the device
Using CarPlay or Android Auto
